Getting started

To use audience exclusion with Meta Ads, you first need to set up an audience tag. We use this tag to build the audience for exclusion.

For this setup, you create a Meta Pixel to use with Spider AF. Meta is Facebook's parent company.

You can set up a maximum of 100 pixels per Meta business account. If you have already reached this limit, you may need to delete one to use audience exclusion.

How to create an audience tag

  1. Log in to Meta Ads Manager Business.

If you are using a personal account, you may see Meta Business Suite instead of the interface below. Make sure to log in to your business account.

  2. Go to Settings and under Data Sources select Datasets & pixels.

  3. Create a new dataset by clicking the Add button and put "SAFVIT" as the pixel name.

  4. After the dataset is created, select "Go to Events Manager."

  5. On the same page, scroll down and select "Set up Meta Pixel."

  6. In the next step you'll be asked to install your pixel, select "Install code manually."

  7. A base code will be displayed. Copy the pixel ID from the following part of this code.

(If the Spider AF permissions are for an agency, please copy the ID and share it with the advertiser.)

    fbq('init', 'pixel ID');

  8. Next, on the Spider AF admin, under "Ad Fraud Protection," go to configurations and select "Ad Networks."

  9. Click Add new Meta Pixel.

  10. Enter the ID copied in step 7 in the following location. Select the tracker that corresponds to the Spider AF analysis tag. (Exclusion settings cannot be made unless they are linked.)

The Pixel name is arbitrary, but if you have multiple products, giving it a product name or brand name will make it easier to identify which product or brand it is later on.

*Since agencies cannot select trackers using their Spider AF authority, please contact the advertiser or us with the Pixel ID you have set and the target product.

  11. Click "Add Meta Pixel ID" to complete the audience tag setup.

We can guide you through this setup with screen sharing. Please contact us if you have any trouble.
