Introduction
Please refer to the following links for instructions on how to set up the API integration for Google and Yahoo:
After linking your ad account with Spider AF, please make sure to complete the exclusion settings. This article explains how to configure IP and Audience Exclusions.
Once the integration is complete, you will need to enable the following settings for each platform (Google and Yahoo). These settings are applied automatically via the API when the toggle is switched ON, so no additional configuration is required in the ad network’s management console.
・IP Exclusion
・Audience Exclusion
・Placement Exclusion (Available for Elite plans and above)
Yahoo
・Audience Exclusion
・Placement Exclusion (Available for Elite plans and above)
Follow the steps below to configure your IP and Audience Exclusions.
1. <Google Ads Only> IP Exclusion
Navigate to Configurations > Ad Network and confirm that your linked Google account is displayed.
Switch the "IP Exclusion" toggle in the corresponding account row to Green/ON.
Enabling this toggle will automatically update the IP exclusion list within that ad account.
Note: Any IPs previously configured manually in your Google Ads "IP exclusion list" will be overwritten. If you have specific IPs you wish to exclude permanently, please refer to the note below.
⚠️ Static IP Exclusions
Spider AF’s IP Exclusion feature frequently analyzes high-impact IPs and automatically adds or updates them in your Google Ads IP Exclusion List.
If you want to keep certain IPs permanently excluded, please register them manually under Protection > IP Exclusion > Manual IP Exclusion.
Any IPs not registered there will be overwritten each time the automated list updates.
(If you need to register more than 50 IPs, please contact us.)
2. Audience Exclusion
1. Navigate to Settings > Ad Network and confirm that your linked Google or Yahoo account is displayed.
2. Switch the "Audience Exclusion" toggle in the corresponding account row to Green/ON.
⚠️ <Google Ads Only> Regarding Personalized Ads
If your product or service falls under Google’s Personalized Ads Policy restrictions, the use of Data Segments for ad delivery is restricted by the platform. Consequently, Spider AF’s Audience Exclusion feature, which relies on this data, cannot be used.
If your business is subject to these policy restrictions, please keep the Audience Exclusion toggle gray/OFF.
For more information on these policies, please refer to the official Google Ads Help page.
3. Once the "Audience Exclusion" toggle is turned Green/ON, you will be directed to the "Associate with Tracker" screen. Ensure you link at least one tracker and click Settings.
By turning this toggle ON, the system retrieves the Audience Tag ID of the relevant ad account via API, creates an audience list, and automatically links that list to your campaigns.
Note: If your Spider AF dashboard permission is set to "Integrations only," you will not be able to select trackers. In this case, please provide your Pixel ID and target product details to the advertiser or our support team.
4. Check the "Audience Exclusion" section at the bottom of the same page to confirm that the row for the configured ad account's Audience Tag ID has been added. (It may take a few minutes to reflect.)
Note: Since the Tag ID is retrieved automatically via API, you do not need to click the "Add new Google/Yahoo Tag ID" button.
If the Tag ID for Yahoo is not appearing after some time, please check the following: Ensure that your Yahoo Ads account has completed up to Step 4: "Retrieve Site Retargeting Tag" as described in the official help pages below:
Example of a successfully reflected Tag ID:
<Google>
<Yahoo>
5. Go to Protection > Blocking Settings and switch the toggle to Green/ON for the categories you wish to exclude.
For details on each blocking rule category, please refer to the descriptions provided within the dashboard.
✒️ Regarding "Frequency Cap" settings
If you have installed our CV Tag on your conversion (thank-you) page, you can analyze your data under Fraud Impact > Frequency Cap.
This section displays the percentage of users who converted among those who performed duplicate clicks within the past 24 hours.
We recommend using this data as a reference when setting your Frequency Cap adjustments on the Blocking Settings page.
For instructions on how to install the CV Tag, please refer to our help article.
6. <Optional> Separate Block Settings per Tracker
If you wish to customize exclusion settings for specific trackers:
Open the "Tracker Overrides" tab at the top of the screen.
Uncheck “Apply default settings to this tracker”.
Select the tracker you want and configure the ON/OFF settings for each category as needed.
Conclusion
Once these steps are completed, your IP and Audience Exclusion settings for Google and Yahoo are all set.
If you are on an Elite plan or higher, please proceed to complete the "Placement Exclusion" settings to maximize your protection.
