Introduction
For instructions on API integration for Google and Yahoo, please refer to the following
[Google Ads: API Integration & Exclusion Setup]
[Yahoo! Ads: API Integration & Exclusion Setup]
After completing the integration, please ensure the following exclusion settings are configured for each platform:
IP Exclusion
Audience Exclusion
Placement Exclusion (Elite Plan and Enterprise Plan)
Yahoo
Audience Exclusion
Placement Exclusion (Elite Plan and Enterprise Plan)
For IP and Audience exclusion methods, please refer to their respective help pages. For Placement Exclusion, please follow the steps below.
1. Enable Placement Exclusion
Go to Configurations > Ad Networks and verify that your linked Google/Yahoo Display Ads accounts are displayed.
Switch the "Placement Exclusion" toggle to Green/ON for the relevant account.
2. Category Selection & Exclusion Activation
1. Select Exclusion Categories: Spider AF provides several exclusion categories. You may choose which ones to exclude freely.
Categories marked with ⭐️ are highly recommended for exclusion.
Definitions for each category are available in the instruction manual on the settings screen (see next steps).
Note for Yahoo! Display Ads Users: Yahoo! Display Ads has two types of exclusion lists:
Exclusion List (Limit: 10,000 items)
Standard List (Limit: 1,000 items)
Please check if an "Exclusion List" already exists. If it does, Spider AF can only create a "Standard List (Limit 1,000)" because Yahoo's specifications only allow one "Exclusion List" per account.
Due to these limits, please select your categories carefully. You can check the number of registered placements per category in the following steps. (If the limit is exceeded, placements will be excluded randomly up to the maximum count.)
2. <Optional> Excluding "Foreign Language Sites"
Go to Placement > Rulesets and then proceed to "Target Language."
Select the countries you wish to whitelist and click "Apply."
Note: This setting applies globally across all accounts, not per individual account.
3. Under Placement > Rulesets, within the "Brand Safety" section, click "Manage Exclusions."
4. Select the target ad account from the top of the screen and switch the toggle to Green/ON for your desired exclusion categories.
Note: Please ensure you configure these settings individually for every account you wish to protect.
5. Similarly, under Placement > Rulesets, within the "Made For Advertising (MFA)" section, click "Manage Exclusions," and follow the same process as Step 4.
⚠️ Note for Yahoo! Display Ads Users: The number of placements registered for each category is displayed at the bottom of the category descriptions for your reference.
Conclusion
That’s it! Once you’ve completed these steps, your Google/Yahoo placement exclusions will be set up and working as intended.
