Q: How is the process of detecting invalid traffic in real-time?

Written by Itzayana Rodríguez

A: Imagine someone is browsing the internet and sees an advertisement for something interesting. They click on it to learn more or to make a purchase.

  1. The Spider AF tag fires. When the user clicks on the ad from a publishing website, the user lands on the advertiser landing page where the Spider AF tag is integrated, and activates.

  2. Spider AF reads signals from the device and sends it to Spider AF servers.

  3. Based on the information obtained, Spider AF analyzes whether the click is valid or not.

  4. In case the click is invalid, Spider AF sends the invalid click information to the corresponding platform to proceed with the blocking:

    1. IP blocking (for Google Ads only) - IPs are sent to the ad network and applied to the account and/or ad campaigns.

    2. Audience Exclusion - Audience exclusion tags are fired from Spider AF in the case of invalid traffic.
