Introduction

To set up invalid click exclusion for Meta Ads, you need to connect your Meta Ads account with Spider AF via API.

This help article explains how to set up the API integration if you have never connected Spider AF via API before.

Setup Steps

1. From the left-side menu on the Spider AF dashboard, go to Ad Fraud Protection > Configrations > Ad Networks, then select Meta.

Click Connect an ad account to proceed with the API integration setup.

2. Select the business account you want to connect.

3. Once selected, the account will be displayed on the Spider AF dashboard.

The Audience Exclusion toggle will appear on the right side.

Click the toggle to enable audience exclusion.

4. A window for selecting a Pixel ID will appear.

If you have never connected Spider AF via API before, there will be no existing pixel available to select.

Please create a new pixel.

Go to Settings and under Data Sources select Datasets & pixels.

6. Create a new dataset by clicking the Add button and put "SAFVIT" as the pixel name.

* You can register up to 100 pixels per account. Once you reach this limit, you will not be able to create any additional pixels.

If this happens, please delete any unnecessary pixels. If deleting is not possible, you will not be able to set exclusions using audiences.

7. The following screen will appear.
Enter "safivt" as the pixel name, then click Create.

8.After the dataset is created, select "Go to Events Manager."

Select the target ad account and click "Next".

9.「On the same page, scroll down and select "Set up Meta Pixel."

10. In the next step you'll be asked to install your pixel, select "Install code manually."

11. A base code will be displayed. Copy the pixel ID from the following part of this code.

(If the Spider AF permissions are for an agency, please copy the ID and share it with the advertiser.)

fbq('init', 'pixel ID');

12. Return to the Spider AF screen and enter the copied Pixel ID.

Set a pixel name, if needed, and click Save.

13. At the bottom of the Spider AF dashboard, check the Audience Exclusions section and confirm that a new column has been added for the audience tag ID of the ad account you set up.

It may take a few minutes for this to be reflected.

14. Please reload the page. Once the Audience Exclusion toggle turns green and is switched ON, the setup is complete.

💡 Once the setup is complete, an audience list will be automatically created in the Campaigns section of Meta Ads Manager.

The automatically created audience list is similar to the one described in “2. Create an Audience List and Configure Exclusion” in this help article. A custom audience named SAFIVT will be created under Exclude these custom audiences.

💡 If you turn the Audience Exclusion toggle in Spider AF gray / OFF, the audience list created in Meta Ads Manager will be automatically deleted.

This does not apply if an integration error has occurred.
