Q : What is the difference between blocked clicks and invalid clicks?

A : "Blocked clicks" is the number of invalid clicks prevented by Spider AF. "Invalid clicks" is the number of invalid clicks that are currently occurring.

Even if you use Spider AF to prevent ad fraud, the following are the main causes of invalid clicks.

  • Spider AF detects the first invalid click and then blocks it, so the first invalid click is still measured

  • After blocking, invalid clicks may occur from the same unauthorized user due to factors such as changing the IP or cookie ID multiple times in a short period of time

Note:

Even if you blacklist an IP in Google's IP blacklist, you may still receive clicks from the IP. These clicks are counted as "invalid clicks," but may not be considered paid.

As you may have of experienced, even if you have blacklisted your own IP with your ads, if you reload several the search enough times, your ads will sometimes be displayed.

However, if an ad is clicked from an IP that is in the IP blacklist, Google typically will not charge for the ad. As a result, there are invalid clicks that occur but are actually prevented.

You can find details if your IP blacklist in the Spider AF dashboard right menu "Protection" >> Select "IP Exclusion" and click
